Since 2000, Rodolfo Meneses, a Chilean mime and clown, has made the street his primary space for creation and research. Trained in Buenos Aires with masters such as Roberto Escobar and Igon Lerchundi, he developed a powerful and expressive gestural language that gave rise in 2005 to Tuga, his most recognized and beloved character in Valparaíso.
Committed to street arts, he promoted recognition of the sector through the International Street Invasion Festival, which he directed between 2009 and 2012. His career was reflected in the documentary "Disorder in the public way" (2016).
Throughout his career he has received numerous awards, including the Audience Award at Mim’off (France), the Best Show award at the Mueca Festival (Canary Islands), the Golden Ring at the International Circus Festival of Chile, as well as recognition at prestigious international competitions such as the Circ Elefant d’Or in Girona.
Tuga, the popular mime from Valparaíso, is above all a disruptor of the everyday and a true performer. Right there on the street, he transforms traffic into an unexpected choreography: he climbs into a taxi, challenges a truck, surfs on the asphalt, and directs the chaos with humor and skill.
Large, agile, and with irresistible charisma, Tuga is a master of improvisation who measures every moment with his unique "laughter meter." In complicity with the audience, he awakens the inner child and transforms the street into a true celebration.
True to its philosophy, it makes sure no one feels uncomfortable: we're here to have fun. Anyone who doesn't want to play along can simply go their own way. Hence the name of the show: "With your permission."
No secondhand embarrassment, just pure, infectious laughter. The audience leaves with light hearts… and the hosts, with a great story to tell.
