TALLER DE CLOWN CON PETER SHUB

MAKE THEM LAUGH – Taller de clown y comedia con Peter Shub

The FIC presents this workshop as a unique opportunity to delve into the art of making people laugh, guided by a professional with over 30 years of international experience. Aimed at both performers and clown enthusiasts alike, with no prior experience required, this workshop invites participants to explore stage presence, authenticity and humanity through play and mindfulness.

The workshop is designed to cater to a range of participants: from performers and students at drama or clown schools to community groups, companies and inclusive theatre groups. Its practical and accessible approach enables each participant to tap into their own means of expression.

Throughout the sessions, we will explore some fundamental questions: why do we laugh? What triggers laughter? How can we make others laugh? Through observation and practice, we will work on the fundamental principles of comedy, which are applicable not only on stage but also in everyday life.

The course covers techniques and styles such as slapstick, physical comedy, clowning, black humour and parody. It will explore classic techniques such as exaggeration, repetition, reversal and the construction of gags, offering participants a genuine ‘living guide’ to comedy.

The methodology draws on Peter’s extensive experience as an artist and teacher at internationally renowned institutions such as Cirque du Soleil, the August Everding Academy, the ZHDK in Zurich and the Max Reinhardt Seminar. In this workshop, he shares, in a clear and dynamic way, the tools he has developed throughout his career to understand and provoke laughter.

Furthermore, the workshop explores humour as a powerful tool for communication and leadership, focusing on aspects such as stage presence, active listening, authenticity and handling mistakes, which are applicable in both performance settings and professional and personal contexts.
